Exceeding traffic

E-mail Print PDF

We've been so popular this month, that my oldest, terrible, bad html store exceeded its monthly traffic limit.

It will be back up tomorrow on November 1.

Yes, its long overdue for a refitting, and a move to pro space.  Because this is happening more and more.

Thank you for making us so popular!

Making Things Fit

I am a firm believer that you should pick up no more baggage in your life (or your travels) than you can comfortably carry yourself.  When you have to run for that train because the Parisian cab driver stopped to pick up his wife's baguettes, you don't want to be lugging to much to make it onboard.  If your partner says that the two of you are zipping off the weekend, you have to realize that 'zip' means packing light.  (more on that later).

Sometimes though, your life gets bigger in spite of what you can do; your business gets bigger and bigger on its own, your children have children, you bring home another kitten, or your musician friends gets all new road cases for his new tour and asks if you want to pick up the old ones.

So..these cases.  They are VIKING CASES.  Viking cases are custom made for their users, and these are big wheeled ones with collapsible handles to get them around.  STEEL corners and frames.  They're a bit scuffed up from touring, and they have stickers on them from Toshiba, Clair Brothers, (who are very near here), Akai and the like.

For a while we've been detailing them to bring them back to new, and building custom violet wand systems into these cases.  But we are running out of space in our 2000 sq foot shop, and running out of time to work on them, and they have to go-- as is.  New, they are $400-500+.  These are the really good ones.  We have 11 left.

Ill make up a list of sizes.  You call.  You can make an offer.  We moved 14 at $300 looking detailed to new, but Im not going to refuse anything reasonable, because we just need to free the space.  They are 'as is', and most have keys.  Most have their own foam, you can get more foam from Viking, but we'll throw in enough foam and diced foam to keep you busy reorganizing all your gear.  And if you have a friend in the music biz, let 'em know.

Voyeurs!

E-mail Print PDF

Why you Voyeurs!  You darling pervs!  I think I get as many emails about our wand cam and wanting to see inside the shop and what we're doing, as any asking about violet wands!

I got a handful of emails about this wandcam shot:

Yes, that one caught us in the act!  Well, not me :D.

We shipped on Thursday that week since we were going out of town over the weekend.

Shows my genius hub, Dralion, on the right, part-timers at left and in the rear at the workbench.  She comes in two days a week to fulfill and ship, gentleman in the back works every day, making things.  As usual, Im behind a desk and off to far left, dispatching at the computer.  Cam shots also catch me at my spot on the workbench, the RED chair :D.  Shipping days bustle so we can get them on the truck in time.

Its a very functional and efficient set up, if you ask nice Ill post pics of the other storeroom and workroom off to the right.  You already have seen pics of the glassblowing!  Don't tell me you need to see the breakroom. (o0)

Are you wearing PURPLE today for Spirit Day?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of purple, did you ever try a Violet Wand cocktail?  There is no better time!

I wish I could remember the names of the mixologists couple who invented this drink, but I never wrote it down.  If you see  yourself, let me know!

1 part chambord

1 part Blue Azize

1 shot vodka

Serve in tall cocktail glass, fill with club soda.

Garnish with lime.  Add a mini lightstick at the bottom of the glass so it glows!

Ask your bartender for one, the next time you're out and take the recipe with you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of bartenders, here is a (retired) bartender with a violet wand that I found.  or some other coincidental juxtapositions (don't you love words like that?) between violet wands and bartenders.

Which made me wonder, what other searches for a job/violet wand might turn up something fun?

I did turn up a few tasty tidbits:
